Assistant Vice President - Technology Audit - Global Markets
Purpose of the Role

To provide assurance across Front Office Technology and deliver meaningful insight and value through robust audit and risk assessment, ensuring effective controls and alignment with organisational objectives.

Key Accountabilities
  • Assist in the design and delivery of audits covering Front Office technology, operational processes, IT systems, and risk management.
  • Identify operational and technology risks to inform the Internal Audit Plan through comprehensive risk assessments.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls and their ability to identify and mitigate risks in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Communicate key findings and actionable recommendations to stakeholders, including audit owners, senior managers, and directors.
  • Monitor regulatory updates and industry trends to provide timely insights and best practice recommendations.
Role Expectations
  • Advise and influence decision-making, contribute to policy development, and ensure operational effectiveness through collaboration across functions and business divisions.
  • Lead collaborative projects, guide team members through structured assignments, and identify cross-functional approaches to achieve objectives.
  • Provide expert advice on complex issues, supporting leaders in resolving escalated matters.
  • Develop policies and procedures to mitigate risk and strengthen governance and controls.
  • Take ownership of risk management and control enhancement within assigned work.
  • Understand interdependencies across functions to ensure alignment with organisational objectives.
  • Collaborate with business-aligned support areas to stay informed on business activity and strategy.
  • Conduct complex data analysis from multiple internal and external sources to solve problems creatively and effectively.
  • Communicate sensitive or complex information clearly and persuasively to diverse audiences.

Requirements
  • Experience & Background
    • Previous experience in 1st or 2nd line of defence roles within financial services.
    • Strong understanding of Front Office products (e.g., derivatives, fixed income, equities, FX) and their associated technology and control frameworks.
    • Exposure to Front Office Technology, Front Office Support, or Business Management functions.
  • Technical Knowledge
    • Familiarity with systems and technology supporting Front Office trading and risk management.
    • Ability to assess operational processes and controls related to trading platforms and associated infrastructure.
  • Stakeholder Management
    • Proven ability to manage relationships with senior stakeholders, including Front Office leadership and technology teams.
    • Strong influencing and communication skills to convey complex issues clearly and persuasively.
  • Skills & Competencies
    • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
    • Ability to work collaboratively across multiple functions and manage competing priorities.
    • High level of integrity and commitment to governance and control standards.
  • Education & Qualifications
