Activities Administrator (8-Month Fixed Term)

Full Time – 37.5 hours

HMP Addiewell, West Lothian

Salary: £24,570 + excellent benefits

Sodexo Justice Services are recruiting an Activities Administrator to join the Purposeful Activities Department at HMP Addiewell on an 8-month fixed-term contract.

HMP Addiewell is a modern learning prison, designed to deliver up to 40 hours of purposeful activity per resident each week, supporting rehabilitation through education, vocational training and personal development. As an SQA-accredited training centre, strong and accurate administration is key to our success.

The role

Reporting to the Head of Purposeful Activity, you’ll provide comprehensive administrative support to a busy department delivering education and vocational activity to around 700 prisoners. This is a varied and rewarding role within a fast-paced, purposeful environment.

Key responsibilities:
  • Managing residents’ employment and activity records, schedules and timetables
  • Supporting staff to maintain and deliver the purposeful activity programme
  • Collating statistics and inputting data for regime monitoring
  • Maintaining accurate filing systems for audit and compliance
  • Managing candidate registrations and certifications via SQA Connect
  • Providing administrative support to Assessors and Verifiers
  • Minute-taking, audit support and general office duties
  • Working as part of a multi-functional admin team, providing cover where required

  • Strong IT skills and confidence using data systems
  • Excellent organisational and analytical skills
  • Ability to build effective relationships across departments
  • Calm, adaptable and able to work under pressure
  • A genuine interest in rehabilitation and resettlement

(Experience using CMS is desirable but not essential.)
