As a faith- and values-based organization, we hire and serve people of all backgrounds and walks of life - there is a place for everyone to belong here.**Mission Statement** The Salvation Army exists to share the love of Jesus Christ, meet human needs and be a transforming influence in the communities of our world.**Job Description:****Position Purpose**The Public Relations Coordinator supports the public relations team in their efforts to support media relations, crisis issues management, marketing, and events to engage stakeholders in the mission of The Salvation Army.**Key Accountabilities*** Provide comprehensive administrative support to the public relations team to ensure smooth daily operations and timely delivery of priorities.* Coordinate documentation and records management to maintain accuracy, consistency, and accessibility across projects and initiatives.* Organize and support Advisory Board meetings, including agenda preparation, minute-taking, and end-to-end meeting logistics.* Schedule and manage meetings and logistics to enable effective collaboration, communication, and follow-through.* Process invoices and expense claims in compliance with financial policies, ensuring accuracy and timely reimbursement.* Serve as the first point of contact for inquiries and media requests, triaging issues and ensuring prompt, appropriate responses.* Respond to internal and external inquiries with professionalism, sensitivity, and urgency to support ministry unit leads and stakeholders.* Provide administrative and logistical support for events, ensuring seamless planning, coordination, and execution.* Coordinate vendor, facility, and service arrangements including catering, bookings, invoicing, and detailed event logistics.* Support event planning committees and budgets, contributing to planning processes and ensuring events are delivered on time and within scope.* All collateral design work, vendor coordination, and work with Event Specialist to ensure all invoices payment and sponsor payments collected and processed on time.**Education and Experience Qualifications*** Post-secondary diploma of 2 to 3 years in a related field or relevant experience equivalent* Three years of experience in customer service* Manage and prioritize multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment while consistently meeting deadlines.* Demonstrate strong organizational and administrative skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.* Communicate clearly and professionally through strong verbal and written communication skills.* Apply sound judgment, integrity, and discretion to build trusted relationships and maintain confidentiality.* Resolve problems effectively using strong analytical skills and a customer-focused approach.* Use advanced MS Office skills (including Excel and Word) to support efficient workflows and reporting.* Exhibit flexibility, self-motivation, and a commitment to continuous learning, with creative design skills considered an asset.* Thrives in a fast-paced environment* Anticipates needs and is highly proactive* exceptional time management and organizational skills* Has experience with collateral design using Canva, Adobe Creative Suite or the equivalent.**Compensation:**The target hiring range for this position is $48,428.77 to $60,535.97 with a maximum of $72,643.16.Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions, internal equity, and candidate experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role.The Salvation Army will provide reasonable accommodation upon request.
