Responsibilities:

• Conduct Comprehensive Market Analysis – Gather, assess, and interpret shipping industry data, trends, and competitive landscapes to provide valuable insights that inform strategic decision-making across the organization.
• Leverage Advanced Analytical Tools – Utilize SQL, Excel, and leading market intelligence platforms to clean, manipulate, and analyze large data sets, ensuring that your insights drive data-driven recommendations and strategies.
• Track Industry Developments – Stay ahead of global trade patterns, shipping regulations, evolving freight rates, and emerging maritime technologies to identify both opportunities and risks for the business.
• Collaborate Across Teams – Work closely with key internal stakeholders, including sales, operations, and technology teams, to ensure research findings align with business needs and guide product development and market positioning.
• Develop Insightful Reports & Dashboards – Create clear, compelling reports, visualizations, and presentations that translate complex shipping data into actionable insights for leadership and other key decision-makers.
• Evaluate Market Expansion Opportunities – Assess new trade routes, port efficiencies, and customer demand patterns to inform investment and market entry strategies.
• Foster a Culture of Innovation – Continuously challenge existing methodologies, push for process optimization, and explore innovative approaches to market intelligence to stay at the forefront of the maritime industry.

Key Functions:

• Conduct in-depth market research to identify emerging trends, risks, and business opportunities in shipping, global trade, and maritime logistics.
• Leverage data-driven insights to support strategic decisions in commercial, chartering, and operational areas.
• Analyze vessel movements, port activities, and freight rate trends to build predictive models for market fluctuations and demand forecasting.
• Design, maintain, and optimize interactive dashboards and reports that present industry insights, benchmarks, and performance indicators for key stakeholders.
• Incorporate cutting-edge AI and automation tools to streamline data collection, analysis, and reporting processes.
• Stay informed on regulatory, environmental, and economic shifts impacting the maritime sector and provide proactive insights.
• Enable business development teams with competitive intelligence and customer insights to support growth initiatives.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve data accuracy, reporting consistency, and overall operational efficiency.

About You:

• Experience: Minimum of 5 years in market research, data analysis, or maritime intelligence, with a proven track record of delivering actionable insights in the maritime or related industries.
• Technical Expertise: Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel, SQL, Power BI, and Tableau. Experience with AI, machine learning, or predictive analytics is a plus.
• Industry Knowledge: A solid understanding of global shipping trends, freight markets, and supply chain logistics is essential.
• Analytical Thinking: Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to interpret complex data, identify trends, and propose data-driven solutions.
• Communication: Excellent report-writing, presentation, and communication skills, with the ability to distill complex insights into clear, actionable recommendations for various stakeholders.
• Team Player: Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, bridging the gap between data insights and business objectives.
