Job Purpose

Perform and administer the HSE observation and inspection to ensure that HSE standards, practices and controls are fully met for assets, operations, projects, equipment and personnel, while ensuring the timely communication and reporting for all potential risks and hazards for Health, Environment, Safety, and Security.


Job Specific Accountabilities

HSE Inspection & Observation

  • Inspect and oversee the implementation of HSE aspects within the respective domain; location, projects, site, plant, process, etc., to ensure compliance with the company’s HSE standards, policies, procedures and guidelines.
  • Assess and report the potential or identified risks and hazards; i.e. chemical, physical, biological, ergonomic, etc., within the work environment.
  • Follow up the daily and shift assignments in line with the communicated schedules for the team, and the relevant operation or material inspection activities.
  • Determine the inspection tool or technique used for each inspection type; depends on operating, environment, food safety, machining, safety, gas testing, downtime, etc.

Incident Handling

  • Investigate any suspicious non-conformities, observations, or risks, timely report and communicate any potential risk to the concerned team to eliminate possibilities of losses, and immediate corresponding.
  • Record the incident details; times, process, code, etc. to ensure proper tracking and investigation for the incidents, as required for further development.
  • Participate in incident investigations and audits, as directed by next level management, to ensure addressing all supportive information about the incident and respective area.

HSE Practice

  • Confirm the process, activity, material, or equipment compliance with the HSE procedures and practices to ensure timely communication with the relevant stakeholders.
  • Share and update the knowledge and information about the HSE updates and procedures for all related personnel to ensure aligned communication among them.
  • Implement programs, studies and activities related to Safety, Environment, Occupational Health and Hygiene as per the HSE standards and practices.
  • Observe and report the usage and condition of personal protective equipment worn by personnel of the company employees and site contractors to ensure abidance, and advise on correct use of each type.

Communication & Reporting

  • Report the inspection analysis and details to ensure proper records of the inspection activities in line with the approved procedures.
  • Promote a high level of HSE awareness, in person, with the site personnel to ensure updated understanding of HSE procedures, and practices.
  • Report the HSE activities, processes and requests as per the HSE Management System(s) and its requirements within the respective logs and registers.
  • Participate in HSE campaigns, training courses, awareness sessions and initiatives deployment to ensure meeting the objectives per each.

Equipment Administration

  • Apply the technology and instrument manuals when carrying out inspections, to ensure proper readings of the item/process under inspection.
  • Conduct equipment calibration and routine check-ups to ensure reliable and desired operating condition for the equipment.
  • Request the maintenance repairs to machines, instruments, and any HSE tools or equipment to ensure readiness.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, PPE and the assigned supplies in proper working condition.

Minimum Qualification

Diploma in Technical or Scientific Disciplines.
