Job Description

An opportunity has become available for a Production Supervisor position to join Prestige Clothing.

Responsibilities
  • Identify training required to develop a multi-skilled production line
  • Attend pre-production meetings prior to the On-Line date
  • Ensure line changeovers are done in the shortest possible time
  • Set up the line according to the line balancing sheet
  • Perform line balancing to ensure full utilization of staff
  • Ensure lines achieve hourly targets
  • Follow the Production Plan and report deviations
  • Minimize downtime by reporting faulty equipment immediately
  • Ensure bundle sheets match actual cutwork delivered to the line
  • Maintain WIP levels by ensuring minimum garments on work stations
  • Report Not In Full non-conformances immediately
  • Manufacture styles to the required quality standards
  • Ensure styles are offline 24 hours prior to ASN date and time
  • Ensure deliveries are complete to Cutting Order and POM
  • Maintain needle policy
  • Discipline employees for misconduct or poor performance
  • Accurately record downtime on MIS
  • Conduct capacity checks and performance improvements to meet hourly targets
  • Return all completed trims to the trim store after style completion
Requirements
  • Grade 10
  • Supervisory experience of 1 or more years
  • Experience in the clothing industry is advantageous
  • Clear criminal record
  • Knowledge of garment construction
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (desirable)
  • Good contactable references
