Introduction

Position: Officer Electricity Supply Agreements (x2). Task Grade: T12. Area of specialisation: To draft, negotiate and implement electricity supply agreements, special pricing agreements, contractual letters and grid connection agreements for the Distribution business aligned with Eskom’s strategic direction. Business Unit: DX Office of the Group Executive. Location: Megawatt Park.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement continuous improvements to the electricity contracts management process.
  • Assist with development of standard/proforma electricity quotes and agreements.
  • Provide a contract advisory service for electricity agreements.
  • Provide stakeholder relationship management.
Competencies Required (includes internal training)
Knowledge
  • Basic understanding of all the terms and conditions in electricity supply agreements and distribution network connection agreements to ensure the agreements are fair and equitable to customers, benefit Eskom and flexible to address the changing needs of Eskom into the future.
  • Basic understanding of Eskom’s pricing policies and principles regarding electricity pricing to ensure agreements comply with Eskom’s pricing policies.
  • Contract law to ensure contracts are interpreted correctly.
  • Basic understanding of relevant legislation (i.e. Electricity Regulation Act, Public Finance Management Act, National Energy Regulator Act, Companies Act, Competition Act, Consumer Protection Act, National Credit Act, Prescription Act, etc) to ensure agreements are legally correct and enforceable.
  • Basic understanding of the electricity regulatory framework including Eskom licences, the South African Grid Code, Distribution Code and standards such as National Rationalised Specifications (NRS)047, NRS 048 and NRS 057 to ensure compliance.
