Job description

Thompsons Travel (Pty) Ltd has a vacancy for a Key Account/New Business Manager in our Sales Department in Johannesburg. The successful candidate must possess skills such as effective communication, strategic planning, negotiations, problem-solving, and time management. The primary focus of this role is to manage and maintain sales relationships with customers, find and develop new customers, and maintain excellent relationships with existing corporate clients by providing outstanding service and support.

Job Responsibilities
  1. Identify new high net worth customers by seeking opportunities
  2. Develop new customers
  3. Cold Calling
  4. Compile tender documents for existing and potential customer needs
  5. Prepare tender documents and processes for new business acquisition
  6. Achieve set targets
  7. Organize workshops, site inspections, and product knowledge sessions
  8. Assist in marketing awareness campaigns
  9. Prepare monthly and quarterly reports on targets and new business acquisition
  10. Participate in online training and implementation
Requirements
  • EE Candidate
  • 3+ years of previous Key Account Management experience in a corporate retail travel environment
  • Travel and Tourism qualification
  • Sales and Marketing qualification
  • Proficient in MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook
  • Excellent geographic knowledge
  • Experience in a target-driven environment with personal sales achievement
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Proactive, problem solver, and innovative
  • Strong sales background
  • Ability to analyze corporate accounts and present reports
  • Understanding of basic accounting principles
