VP, Digital Business Development Leader

Hiscox is seeking a senior leader to drive the profitable growth of its SME insurance products through the digital partnership channel. The role reports to the SVP, Head of Digital Partnerships and is based in Boston, Chicago, Hartford, Manhattan, or Atlanta.

Key Responsibilities
  • P&L Accountability: Manage an insurance P&L with consistent profitable growth.
  • Partnership Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with digital and alternative distribution insurance partners, including executive stakeholders.
  • Insurance Distribution Technology: Deep knowledge of agent portals, APIs, multi‑carrier platforms, embedded iFrame/native UX, and lead generation/call center models.
  • Channel and Partner Strategy: Identify strategic direction and set execution plans for both individual partners and entire distribution channels.
  • Innovation: Stay current on evolving SME insurance landscape, emerging players, opportunities, and trends to deliver new and creative solutions.
  • Sales Leadership: Build best‑in‑class sales activities and practices, coach and mentor a team to meet targets.
  • People Leadership: Implement operating routines and best practices that drive consistency and accountability across the business development function.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred.
  • Results‑oriented mindset with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Data analytical skills to identify trends and make data‑driven decisions.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of insurance distribution operations, regulations, and carrier/agency market dynamics.
Additional Requirements
  • Travel up to 30% of the time.

Salary Range

$175,000 – $225,000 per year, with additional variable compensation based on performance.
