Overview

SVP of Design and Merchandising, Nike Swim — Perry Ellis International. The Senior Vice President (SVP) of Design and Merchandising for Nike Swim will be a visionary leader responsible for defining and executing the product strategy for Nike Swim. This executive will oversee all critical functions of Product Creation, including Design, Technical Design, Product Development, and Merchandising. The role reports to the President of Nike Swim and is located in Portland, Oregon.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Leadership: Formulate and champion a clear product vision and long-term strategy for the Nike Swim collection, aligning with the broader brand mission and financial objectives, and work closely with Nike Global Product Licensing on brand initiatives.
  • Design and Innovation: Oversee the design process from concept to commercialization; lead the design team to create innovative, performance-driven, and aesthetically appealing products that resonate with the target consumer.
  • Merchandising Excellence: Drive assortment planning, pricing, product lifecycle management, and ensure the line is balanced, commercially viable, and regionally appropriate.
  • Market and Consumer Insights: Monitor market trends, consumer behavior, and competitive landscapes in the swim industry; use data to inform design and merchandising decisions.
  • Team Development: Mentor and motivate a global team; develop capabilities in line plans, product briefs, franchise management, and long-term roadmaps.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with marketing, sales, product development, and operations to ensure a seamless go-to-market and unified brand message.
Qualifications

  • Industry Knowledge: Deep knowledge of swim and surf apparel markets, materials, technology, and consumer trends.

  • Business Acumen: Strong commercial and financial skills, including P&L management and revenue growth.
  • Communication: Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
