A leading sustainability firm in San Diego is seeking an experienced HR ESG Data Analyst to manage HR and ESG-related data. You will analyze key sustainability metrics, prepare reports in line with ESG standards, and collaborate across teams to ensure effective data management. The ideal candidate has at least 6 years of experience in data reporting, proficiency in SQL and data visualization tools like Power BI, and exceptional communication skills. This role offers a chance to shape organization-wide sustainability practices.
Take ownership of collecting, organizing, and managing HR and ESG-related data from internal and external sources, and develop streamlined data pipelines to support efficient tracking of HR sustainability and ESG indicators.
Maintain data integrity by conducting regular quality checks, audits, and validation processes, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of all data inputs.
Analyze key HR sustainability metrics such as workforce diversity, employee well‑being, training, and retention, and deliver actionable insights to enhance overall ESG performance.
Prepare detailed reports in accordance with recognized ESG disclosure standards (e.g., ESRS, GRI, SASB, TCFD), with a strong focus on human capital metrics for both internal assessments and external disclosures.
Collaborate with HR, sustainability, compliance, and IT teams to ensure data strategy aligns with business goals and enhance the infrastructure supporting HR and ESG metric reporting.
Co‑develop and refine key performance indicators (KPIs) to effectively measure and improve HR sustainability and ESG outcomes.
Conduct benchmarking and gap analysis to evaluate organizational performance against industry standards and keep up to date with evolving ESG regulations and trends.
Present critical insights, trends, and strategic recommendations to senior management and other stakeholders to support informed decision‑making and continuous improvement in sustainability practices.
Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Business Analytics, Sustainability, Statistics, or a related field; advanced degrees or certifications in ESG reporting or data analytics are highly desirable.
Minimum of 6 years of experience in data programming and reporting, particularly using SQL and visualization tools like Power BI or similar platforms.
Proficiency in Workday reporting/Prism is required.
Hands‑on experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI, and strong working knowledge of ESG reporting standards such as ESRS, GRI, SASB, and TCFD.
Skilled in data analytics tools including Python, R, SQL, and Excel, with a strong aptitude for interpreting complex datasets and identifying actionable trends.
Exceptional attention to detail in data cleaning, validation, and reporting, ensuring compliance with relevant ESG reporting frameworks.
Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal—with the ability to present findings clearly to both technical and non‑technical audiences. Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills for working across teams.
