As a Supplier Development Lead, you serve as a change agent in individual corporate responsibility, working alongside Siemens Energy’s business areas to strengthen supplier capability and performance. You collaborate with partners across regions, translating strategic procurement direction into impactful supplier development initiatives. Your day involves engaging with cross‑functional teams, addressing supplier initiatives, ensuring supplier processes are robust, scalable, and aligned with our long‑term objectives. You operate as a peer and partner to business areas, bringing both technical depth and a broad organizational perspective.

How You’ll Make An Impact
  • Develop and implement/consult on critical initiatives to enhance specific supplier processes, capabilities, and partnerships—driving performance, innovation, and alignment with Siemens Energy’s procurement strategy. This includes both proactive improvements (e.g., innovation, capability, capacity, technology) and addressing performance topics (e.g., quality, delivery).
  • Diagnose and resolve supply‑base challenges/opportunities, proactively handling risks and driving targeted improvements.
  • Champion and harmonize supplier development practices across business units, ensuring consistency, alignment, and sustainable results.
  • Provide both strategic enablement and practical support as needs evolve, partnering with business areas to advance standard processes and continuous improvement.
  • Create and train on methodologies and process guides to elevate supplier development competency across Siemens Energy’s supply base.
  • Benchmark and integrate external, innovative developments in supplier development, ensuring Siemens Energy remains at the forefront of industry standard processes.
What You Bring
  • Degree in Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, Operations Management, Manufacturing/Process Engineering, Production/Industrial Technology, or Business Administration (with an operations or supply chain focus), with proven experience in supplier process optimization, operational excellence, value stream analysis, supplier innovation, production planning, capability and capacity ramp‑up.
  • Strong systems thinking and analytical skills, holistically analyze, optimize, and innovate supplier processes end‑to‑end.
  • Experience in global, corporate, or matrixed environments, supporting multiple business units or regions, collaborating with commercial teams, understanding commodity strategies, and influencing executive partners.
  • Demonstrated leadership as a change agent in Supplier Development, with a track record of leading international, multi‑functional projects, task forces, and virtual teams; excellent facilitation, project/program management, and adaptability in complex organizational settings.
  • Relevant certifications with practical experience in Lean Enterprise, Six Sigma‑ Continuous Improvement, Operational Excellence, Value Stream Analysis, Change Management, and Scrum; advanced certifications preferred.
  • Dynamic self‑starter with strong initiative, intercultural expertise, and the ability to communicate technical information, performance metrics, and results effectively at senior organizational levels.
  • Willingness to travel internationally up to 40 %.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer‑sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
