Celtic is hiring! Celtic Engineering, Inc., a leader in structural and specialty engineering within the Entertainment/Hospitality and mechanical/machine engineering industries, seeks a mid-level Structural Engineer for our Windermere, FL office.

The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated, experienced structural engineer who will execute technical scopes of a project with some manager and EOR supervision for larger or more complex projects, executing the detailed analysis and/or design of structural components and systems associated with facilities and nonbuilding structures per EOR direction.

As an experienced Structural Engineer, you will lead tasks in your expertise, nurturing the skills of less-experienced engineers as well as developing your own skills. You will also have the option to grow further as a technical expert or develop further into Project Management.

Your Contributions to Our Team:

  • Execute and eventually lead the engineering gravity and lateral system selection and layout, and the technical analysis, assessment, and design for the project as well as contribute to workflow planning
  • Work with the EOR to determine codes, loads, analysis methods and engineering tools appropriate for the project and project staff. Preferred but not required: experience with seismic analysis
  • Support and develop creative formulation of designs, evaluation of alternatives
  • Take advantage of your comprehensive design and analytical experience with materials like steel and reinforced concrete to further enhance your expertise and broaden your skill set with other structural engineering materials such as timber, reinforced masonry, structural aluminum, and structural stainless steel.
  • Assist with the development engineers working with you or under your direction.
  • Progressively increase the level of engineering responsibility you handle as you learn to be the EOR for the project.
  • Production and checking of structural drawing packages, sketches, and engineering reports
  • Contribute to the production of site observations & conditions assessment reports, and construction administration activities.
  • Perform engineering analysis and calculations including industry-leading structural analysis software packages

What Contributions Do You Bring with You?

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering (required).
  • Graduate degree with emphasis in Structural Engineering is preferred but not required.
  • 4+ years minimum experience working with IBC-style building codes and national standards in the USA.
  • Working or proficient knowledge with at least one: SAP2000, ETABS, RISA3D or substantially similar structural analysis software suites.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, interpersonal skills, and communication abilities.
  • Engineer Intern (EI) License in a US state (preferred, not required).
  • Knowledgeable to proficient experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM) software (Revit) is highly preferred but not required.
