Staff Physician, MD/DO at Fort Logan

Salary information and posting details are provided in the posting text. This position is located on the Fort Logan campus in southwest Denver and involves direct patient care in a 138-bed adult inpatient psychiatric facility.

Responsibilities
  • Provides medical assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for psychiatric inpatients.
  • Completes pre-admission screening and performs various health assessments.
  • Provides site coverage for general patient care needs and code-blue emergency response.
  • Works with the psychiatry treatment team to engage patients in medical care and collaborates with staff and outside consultants in evaluation and treatment.
  • Assists with On-Duty physician training, orientation, quality reviews, and sign-out communications.
  • Provides after-hours on-call support to the on-site On-Duty physician in rotation with other physicians as assigned.
  • Supports work unit initiatives and programs such as employee health, infection control, and pandemic response.
  • Serves on committees, workgroups and projects; educates and mentors staff.
  • Located in southwest Denver and onsite at the Fort Logan campus.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • MD or DO in Family Practice / Internal Medicine or other closely related specialty.
  • Unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Colorado.
  • DEA registration.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers.
  • Board certification and five years post-graduate direct care experience in a primary care or closely related field.
  • Experience working with behavioral health patients.

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing with faculty, staff, students, alumni, industry and the public.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels.
