Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Director, Accounting to oversee all accounting operations, financial reporting, and internal controls. The ideal candidate will ensure the accuracy of financial information, prepare the financial statements, maintain compliance with U.S. GAAP, review company processes and update them as needed to ensure efficiency and compliance, and support strategic decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Lead all day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and tax compliance.
• Prepare accurate semiannual financial statements.
• Work with FP&A team to compare actuals to forecast, analyze variances, make corrections as needed, and communicate progress with Finance teams throughout the close.
• Review monthly journal entries and related balance sheet reconciliations such as: payroll, accruals, and AGM variances
• Prepare AR reserves and Inventory reserves and improve upon current processes to make the month end closes more efficient
• Manage Sales tax & use tax, business licenses, registration renewals, property tax and other taxes and fees
• Collaborate with other departments and external parties to ensure financial accuracy and compliance
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
• Work with IT team to make improvements in our ERP and Reporting systems
• Oversee treasury functions- cash flow, borrowing base, approval weekly wires and payments
• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
• Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management.
• Collaborate with other departments and external parties to ensure financial accuracy and compliance
• Assisting with SAP implementation

Qualifications

• CPA required
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership in a controller-level role
• Proven experience managing accounting operations end-to-end
• Strong command of U.S. GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting
• Advanced Excel skills and ERP system expertise (SAP preferred)
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth and evolving environment
• This role requires travel up to 30% to our PA office, including occasional overnight trips

Work arrangement

HYBRID SCHEDULE: 4 days a week in the NJ office, 1 day work from home

Pay

PAY RATE: $185,000/yr-$205,000/yr
