Overview

This position is ECB status and requires a minimum number of worked hours per month as needed by the department; limited benefit offerings. Location: General Neurology - Yale Campus, Tulsa, Oklahoma 74136.

Responsibilities
  • Utilizes the nursing process to care for patients. Assesses, organizes, and completes patient care with consideration for patient age, cultural and psychosocial factors.
  • Documents steps of the nursing process using proper medical terminology.
  • Addresses problems and progress toward goals. Facilitates patient discharge through timely, appropriate referrals and utilization of patient education resources suitable to patient age and cultural/psychosocial factors.
  • Collaborates with other disciplines as appropriate. Supports unit/hospital goals through performance improvement and educational activities evidenced by attending in-services, meeting unit education standards, and completing variance reports.
  • Decision making involves independent judgment in making decisions from many diversified alternatives, subject to general review in final stages only.
  • Works directly with patients and/or customers; interacts with internal and external customers and other healthcare professionals; may interact with individuals at Director level or above.
Qualifications
  • Minimum Education: Has completed the basic professional curricula of a school of nursing as approved and verified by a state board of nursing, and holds or is entitled to hold a diploma or degree therefrom.
  • Licensure/Registration/Certification: Valid multi-state or State of Oklahoma Registered Nurse License.
  • Work Experience: 0 - 6 months related experience.
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Working knowledge of general disease state management processes, bio-psychosocial model, and clinical pathways. Effective interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills. Ability to organize and prioritize work efficiently. Ability to be detail oriented in examination of clinical and numerical data.
