Position Summary

This position is for a full-time Licensed Land Surveyor in any of our office locations. We are seeking a highly motivated individual capable of performing a variety of surveying tasks, including but not limited to: site and highway construction layout, MDOT design surveys, control surveys, precision industrial surveying, ALTA and topographic surveys.

A Typical Day on the Job

  • Work in the field and office using robotic, GPS, and laser scanning hardware/software.
  • Assist the Crew Chief with boundary, topography, ALTA, right of way, and construction surveys.
  • Operate and maintain survey equipment, take field notes, collect data, perform calculations, and collaborate on projects.
  • Process LiDAR and GPS/Total Station data, prepare client reports, maps, and perform quality checks.
  • Read and interpret complex instructions; perform mathematical computations including least squares adjustments.
  • Perform physically demanding work in various weather and terrains.
  • Knowledge of traffic control, safety procedures, reading construction plans, developing grade sheets, and surveying principles.
  • Maintain professionalism and be able to travel locally and nationally (approximately 30%), with per diem and lodging provided.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in surveying or related field.
  • 5+ years of surveying experience.
  • Licensed professional surveyor or eligible to become licensed under new guidelines.
  • Experience with MDOT projects is favorable but not required.
