Overview

Project Engineer POWER Engineers, member of WSP, is currently seeking a Project Engineer to work with our Government Services Division. This role involves engineering design projects in the Government market, including mission-critical infrastructure design such as power delivery, power generation, power distribution, backup power, UPS, system studies, renewable energy, MEP design, and related projects.

Strong team leadership, mentoring, excellent communication and presentation skills, motivation, a positive attitude, and the ability to work on multiple projects concurrently are core skills for the successful candidate. The department is growing, and the successful applicant will contribute to developing a sustainable electrical department with staff at all experience levels. The applicant will interface directly with internal and external clients and will drive projects to successful completion within budget and schedule constraints.

Responsibilities
  • Lead design teams including sub-consultants and work with federal clients on energy and infrastructure projects.
  • Manage multiple large and small projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrate a deeply technical engineering skill set and experience leading design teams while interfacing with federal clients.
  • Hold and maintain licensure as a professional engineer in electrical or mechanical engineering.
Qualifications
  • BS degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Professional Engineering License with the ability to be licensed in multiple states.
  • Seven (7) years of applicable experience leading technical design teams on federal government projects.
  • Experience on NAVFAC or USACE projects.
  • Demonstrated experience with the successful execution of design-build (DB) and design-bid-build (DBB) interdisciplinary design projects for US Government clients.
  • Working knowledge of Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC) and Unified Facilities Guide Specifications (UFGS).
  • Seven (7) years of experience in the design and specification of electrical power distribution systems or mechanical systems, and building design.
  • Broad understanding of architectural and engineering system designs and multi-discipline coordination.
  • Ability to mentor design teams.
  • Ability to manage project scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, willingness to travel domestically and internationally, and ability to work in a customer-focused, project-oriented environment.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
Desired Education/Experience
  • Ten (10) years of applicable experience leading technical design teams and in the design and specification of electrical power distribution systems or mechanical systems, and building design.
  • Ability and willingness to obtain a security clearance.
  • Experience with mission-critical infrastructure projects.
  • Solid foundation in implementing CAD and BIM software such as AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation.

Base Salary Range: $80,000 - $180,000 per year

The range for this position is being displayed in compliance with all state and local regulations. Salaries are set based on a number of factors to include an individual's job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and education. This means that no two candidates are alike. The range provided above does not include additional compensation such as bonus, health benefits, vacation, 401(k) match, etc.
