Overview

Product Assembly Associate I - Ends & Supports. Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

Position Summary

The Product Assembly Associate I will primarily assemble wooden furniture for higher education facilities and healthcare facilities.

  • Unit assembly of a customer product for the assigned work center
Location Details

New Haven: Product Assembly Associate 1 (PAA1) will be trained in two skill sets of the six listed and must have quality work, proficiency, and willingness to perform the tasks when asked by the production leader.

Wood Framing: Constructing wooden frames for arms, backs, seats, and ottomans through the use of staple guns, fasteners, and adhesive.

Foam Fabrication: Applying foam to wooden frames for arms, backs, seats, and ottomans through the use of staple guns, fasteners, and adhesive.

Fabric Upholstery: Applying fabric to wooden frames for arms, backs, seats, and ottomans through the use of staple guns and fasteners.

Fabric Stuffing: Applying fabric to foam fabricated frames for arms, backs, seats, and ottomans.

Mechanism Assembly: Mechanism assembly for recliners, sleep chairs, and sleep sofas for the assigned work center.

Unit Assembly: Complete assembly of a customer product for the assigned work center.

All skill sets must meet quality standards according to standard operating procedures.

Position Requirements
  • Attention to fine detail; detail-oriented
  • Regular lifting, maneuvering and positioning of product up to 50 lbs
  • Requires full shift of standing, walking, bending and lifting
  • Able to read, write and follow instructions, both written and verbal
  • Able to use handheld power tools with accuracy and precision
  • Able to assist in training employees
  • 5-S audits and daily cleaning
  • Ensures a safe working environment by conforming to all safety guidelines including, but not limited to, wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE)
Experience and Knowledge Required
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Previous Manufacturing Experience preferred
