Job description

Acclaim Physician Group, Inc. (Acclaim) is a multi specialty medical group practice comprised of over 500 physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants that partner with JPS Health Network (JPS). Acclaim supports JPS’s mission of transforming healthcare delivery for the communities we serve. From primary care to pediatrics to a full range of specialties, Acclaim’s goal is to provide high-quality, compassionate care for every patient, every time.

As the county health network and Level-1 Trauma Center, JPS has been serving the residents of Tarrant County for over 100 years. In addition to providing high-quality care, JPS is also an urban teaching hospital with a long history of training physicians and medical students. JPS offers 18 residency and fellowship programs, including the largest family medicine residency in the nation. JPS educates in tandem with the University of North Texas Health Science Center, Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine, and Texas Christian University Medical School.

This is a clinical position in an academic environment, with a focus on contributing to the overall healthcare of patients in Healing Wings Clinic. Broadly, the psychologist will spend time in clinical care, with some attention to population-based care, interdisciplinary treatment teams, and administrative work. The psychologist will provide clinical care and supervision in a fast paced, integrated care setting within a primary care clinic for patients with HIV/AIDS. The psychologist will be expected to provide individual, group, and family therapy as appropriate. The psychologist will also be expected to collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to provide high quality care. The psychologist may be asked to supervise mental health learners in the provision of integrated mental health. As needed, the psychologist will also participate in administrative efforts and quality of care efforts at Healing Wings Clinic and JPS more broadly.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide individual, group, and family therapy as appropriate.
  • Monitor care guidelines to ensure compliance with JPS Health Network and Acclaim Physician Group standards.
  • Make appropriate patient referrals as necessary.
  • Maintain a collaborative environment with physicians, clinical staff, and support teams.
  • Support academic, educational, and research initiatives.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
  • APA accredited (or equivalent) doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychology and an APA/APPIC approved internship (or equivalent).
  • Licensed or license-eligible in Texas.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Commitment to patient safety, efficiency, and equitable healthcare delivery.
