For additional information on remote work at Penn State, see .** **JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS**Engineering Support – Part-timeThe Pennsylvania State University, the Altoona College, invites applications for a part-time position to provide laboratory support for our Rail Transportation Engineering program beginning in January 2026. The duties of the position include, but are not limited to, maintaining teaching and research laboratory equipment, maintaining inventory of supplies, maintaining a safe working environment, and the supervision of undergraduates using the lab. About 20 hours of time spent in the laboratory area per week is expected. The position requires at least a bachelors in some type of engineering. Preference will be given to applicants with degrees in Rail Transportation Engineering or Civil Engineering. Applicants must be approved to begin working by January, 2026. The hourly rate is between $25-30 per hour.Applicants should submit a letter of application establishing their qualifications, a current curriculum vitae, transcripts (official transcripts required at the time of an interview), and the names and contact information for at least three references.
