Provides health care to individuals and families, emphasizing health promotion and disease prevention. They may care for patients ranging in age from newborn to elderly as noted in age-related category and area of expertise.

  • 1.0 FTE, full-time
  • Monday - Friday from 8:00am – 5:00pm.
  • Call is inpatient Monday – Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm with MD support and collaboration.
  • General Neurology Department with the ability to focus on select patient populations.
  • Patient Population consists of patients with diagnoses of – Migraine/Headaches, Concussion, Epilepsy, Dementia, Parkinson’s, Multiple Sclerosis, Neuromuscular Disorders, Neuropathy
  • Experienced Neurodiagnostic Services provided by our Neurodiagnostic team with the ability to complete EEGs both inpatient and ambulatory and EMGs.
  • Volumes:
  • Inpatient: 2-4 consults per day with daily follow-up and rounding
  • Outpatient: 10-15 patients per day

The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant utilizes advanced health assessment, knowledge, and decision-making skills, while working both independently and in collaboration with physicians and other health care professionals. The NP/PA will provide health care to individuals and families, emphasizing health promotion and disease prevention. Position requires a high level of patient-centered skills to establish and enhance positive relationships with patients, co-workers, and others.

Education/Training
  • Master’s or Doctorate degree in Nursing or Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited program.
  • Previous experience in Neurology preferred
Licensure/Certifications Required
  • Current licensure as a registered nurse in appropriate state (if NP).
  • Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in appropriate state.
  • Current certification in CPR.
  • National certification in applicable area.
  • Successful completion of Essentia Health credentialing process prior to practice.
