Functions as a liaison between registration staff and clinical staff to facilitate the efficient flow of patients throughout the system. Confers with physicians regarding need, urgency, and appropriateness of infusion and clinic visits, ancillaries if needed. Assesses and reviews physician orders to assist with scheduling patients in a timely fashion.* Manages comprehensive nursing care for patients whose needs range from uncomplicated to complex and rapidly changing. (Assesses subtle changes in patient status; anticipates problems before they occur and implement measures to minimize risk) Organizes and prioritizes nursing care activities considering the needs of the patients and other staff members. (Initiates/facilities/collaborates with all members of the interdisciplinary team to improve care delivered to the patients to ensuring that appropriate referrals are made and completed).* Coordinates and manages care by applying analytical reasoning, reflection, rational problem solving skills, using evidence based information and clinical judgment.* Functions as a patient/family advocate.
