What we’re looking for:

The Capital Markets Team is seeking an experienced Senior Trader that has a deep understanding of mortgage capital markets, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to efficiently execute trades. The ideal candidate will also be responsible for managing risk associated with a mortgage pipeline, identifying sale/trade opportunities, and developing prudent risk management strategies. This is a remote opportunity to work from home.

What You’ll Do

Trading Activities:

  • Perform day-to-day trading as needed, including but not limited to: TBA, bulk, co-issue, AOT, and securitization.
  • Report on and analyze trade profitability, best execution, and PA reconciliation.
  • Monitor interest rate risk exposure and establish prudent trading strategies to maximize gain and minimize risk.
  • Oversee and coordinate with junior staff members to ensure all activity is accurately updated in each respective system and reported accordingly.
  • Stay informed on market trends, pricing, liquidity, and macro factors that impact the MBS market and associated hedging instruments.
  • Develop, maintain, and expand positive working relationships with dealers, investors, and outside vendors.
  • Produce daily, weekly, and monthly MBS market commentary for distribution to larger group.
  • Ensure compliance with all company trading policies, industry regulations, and best practices.
  • Experiment with prompt engineering with team to explore use cases of LLMs for streamlining processes, improving reporting, and enhancing decision making workflows.
  • Other duties as required.
What You’ll Need
  • 5+ year mortgage capital markets experience. Trading preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or mathematics preferred.
  • In depth knowledge of mortgage capital markets.
  • Experience with mortgage origination systems/product pricing engines.
  • Microsoft Excel, Access, Power Point experience preferred.
  • SQL, VBA, Python experience preferred, not required.
  • Detail oriented with ability to work in fast-paced environment.

Compensation and Benefits

The following is provided for guidance and is subject to change: The annual compensation for this position generally ranges between $120,000 – $150,000. Colorado-specific disclosure is included as required by state law. This description notes compensation as a good-faith estimate for this position and for applicants in Colorado. Similar positions located outside of Colorado will not necessarily receive the same compensation.
