Manufacturing Process Engineer at Altorfer Cat

Monday – Friday, 6:00am – 2:30pm

Responsibilities
  • Develop, document, and maintain standard work, process instructions, and workflow documentation for Data Center and Refurb packaging assembly operations.
  • Partner with Production to analyze current assembly processes, identify bottlenecks or variation, and implement improvements that enhance efficiency, quality, and safety.
  • Establish and maintain process control plans, PFMEAs, and other process engineering artifacts to support stable, repeatable assembly processes.
  • Monitor and analyze process performance metrics such as takt time, cycle time, rework, throughput to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
  • Lead continuous improvement projects related to assembly process optimization, waste reduction, and operational consistency.
  • Conduct process audits to verify adherence to standard work and identify gaps or training needs.
  • Implement error-proofing strategies and assist in developing fixtures, tools, or process aids that improve assembly consistency and reduce rework.
  • Provide training and support to Production teams on new or revised processes, documentation, and improvement initiatives.
  • Support ISO 9001 process documentation requirements, internal audits, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Lead improvement initiatives and support multiple projects simultaneously.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Industrial Technology, or related field preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Experience in manufacturing, assembly process development, industrial engineering, or continuous improvement roles.
  • Familiarity with process engineering tools such as PFMEA, control plans, time studies, and standard work.
  • Working knowledge of Lean concepts, Kaizen, 5S, and structured problem‑solving methods.
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to measure, interpret, and improve process performance.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills when working with Production, Engineering, and Quality teams.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with Excel, Power BI, or CAD tools is a plus.
Compensation & Benefits

Payrate: $55,000 - $80,000 annually.

This position works primarily in an office environment with routine visits to production, packaging, and refurbish operations. The role may involve sitting for extended periods, using a computer or phone, and occasional travel between Altorfer locations. The individual must be able to walk, bend, or lift up to 20 lbs as necessary and must wear appropriate PPE when working in operational areas.
