Job summary

A leading software solutions provider in Texas is seeking an experienced Cobol Developer to perform code modifications and assist in testing procedures. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Cobol, DB2, and JCL, along with experience working in Agile environments. Responsibilities include unit testing and collaboration with QA and other internal teams. This role is essential in supporting application development and testing processes.

Qualifications

• Experience with Cobol programming and related technologies.
• Familiarity with unit testing and regression testing.
• Experience with Agile methodologies, particularly Scrum.

Responsibilities

• Perform code changes to Cobol programs, Copybooks, JCL, and DB2 Stored Procedures.
• Help QA team members in integration and regression testing.
• Attend team Scrum ceremonies including daily stand-ups.

Job description

Primary skill set - Cobol, DB2, JCL, MVS, ChangeMan (good to have)

Perform code changes to made to the Cobol programs, Copybooks, JCL, DB2 Stored Procedures, etc.

Unit test changes/additions made to the Cobol programs, Copybooks, JCL, DB2 Stored Procedures, etc.

Help the QA team members in integration and regression testing

Attend the team Scrum ceremonies including the daily stand-up sessions

Work with other Client's internal teams to test and validate dependencies

Work with external vendors where necessary to test and validate dependencies

Use JIRA and Confluence for managing work and documentation
