Base pay range

$32.99/hr - $42.65/hr



Summary

The Behavioral Health Clinician II (BHC II) is a licensed clinician position which provides diagnostic intake assessments, individual and group therapy, and crisis intervention support to clients in an integrated Federally Qualified Health Center (Village Health Center; VHC) which supports individuals who are homeless or at-risk of homelessness.

Essential Functions


  • Provides behavioral health care services, including individual and group therapy. Provides crisis assessment and intervention support to clients. Sees clients according to assigned scheduling template.

  • Completes timely, thorough and accurate clinical documentation in each client’s electronic health record. Participates in monthly peer chart reviews.

  • Effectively communicates and collaborates with patients, other health professionals, clinical staff, and colleagues. Collaborates with team members to develop care plans in order to deliver high quality healthcare.

  • May provide behavioral health consultation in multidisciplinary team meetings and staff members.

  • Participates in meetings, presentations, workgroups and/or learning collaboratives, as assigned. May facilitate behavioral health trainings for VHC team or larger organization (Father Joe’s Villages; FJV).

  • Reviews communications on multiple platforms; checking each at least once per working day.

  • Complies with all of the terms and provisions of law and ethical standards relating to the practice of mental health therapy.

  • Devotes a sufficient amount of time each year to self-study, conferences and obtaining other adequate continuing education (CE) to maintain license to practice in the State of California.

  • Completes and maintains privileging and credentialing in the Health Center.

  • Assures on time completion of assigned training and policies.

  • Maintains a professional demeanor at all times at work.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.



Qualifications


  • Bilingual Spanish highly preferred

  • Master’s Degree in Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or equivalent.

  • At least 1 year of counseling experience with clients experiencing homelessness, low income, or at-risk populations.

  • Clinical knowledge of substance use, mental health, trauma-informed care, and systemic understanding of homelessness.

  • In good standing with California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Counselor (LMFT), or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPCC).

  • Basic user of MS Office and electronic health record systems.

  • CPR certified (can be obtained after hire)

  • Participate in an annual Tuberculosis screening and/or other screenings when necessary. Reasonable accommodations may be granted where appropriate.



Pay Rate

The Pay rate for this role is based on several factors including the candidate's experience, qualifications, and internal equity. The initial offer usually falls between the minimum and midpoint of the applicable salary range.


Pay Band: N8 $32.99 - $42.65 (Midpoint: $36.19)
