Overview

The Industrial Engineering Leader is part of the FLIGHT DECK Operations Group. This role will engage with our FLIGHT DECK and industrial engineering users across part families, shop operations, and supporting cross-functional teams that satisfy the needs for activities including capacity utilization, labor and machine utilization improvement, layout standardization, plant loading studies. As well as support Connected Flow and Production System activities related to material management, sizing, replenishment, and kanban.

Responsibilities
  • Develop advanced competency in a wide range of Industrial Engineering Methods and Lean tools, and coaches’ associates in the use and implementation of Lean principles. Deploy FLIGHT DECK fundamentals and coach teams within Part Family Shops to utilize tools and methods on their lean transformation journey.
  • Partner, develop and execute standard Capacity Utilization process in partnership with the local Operations, Lean and Industrial Engineering Leaders.
  • Improves workflow by studying process flow charts, recommending modifications in workflow and workstations, and developing new procedures.
  • Material management know how and can coach and instruct teams on proper use of kanban, supermarket storage, material replenishment loops, and containerization strategies.
  • Know how to apply machine capacity analysis, operator balance charts, create and deploy standard work, PFEP, PQPR, and other production system relevant tools to develop a system with takt attainment.
  • Improves labor and machine utilization by studying work methods, layout, and equipment modifications, designing new methods, and recommending job restructuring.
  • Share and communicate advanced industrial engineering process flows and work streams to be used by the operations as Best Practice Standards across the Supply Chain.
  • Use Lean Process Improvement methodologies, expertise, and judgment to creatively address complicated and/or interdependent processes, develop execution plans and communicate benefits/risk.
  • Lead functional teams or projects with minimal resource requirements, risk, and/or complexity. Communicates difficult concepts and may influence others\' options on topics. May guide others to consider a different point of view.
Required Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience on Industrial Engineering, Lean Transformations or Supply Chain operations.
  • Ability and willing to travel up to 60% of the time.
Desired Characteristics and Experience
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience facilitating lean transformations or Supply Chain operations preferred.
  • Master's degree in Industrial Engineering preferred.
