Environmental Practice Lead - Data Centers

Environmental Practice Lead – Data Centers at Langan Engineering & Environmental Services leads the national Data Centers practice, guiding a team of experienced consultants to deliver high-quality environmental solutions, including environmental due diligence, site assessment, remediation, air quality modeling and permitting, and water and wastewater, integrated with the firm\'s site/civil and geotechnical capabilities.

Responsibilities
  • Apply knowledge, technical expertise, strategic insight, and leadership to elevate environmental capabilities and visibility within the data center industry.
  • Refine data center market strategy and related materials.
  • Oversee work product quality, expand services, and drive revenue growth and profitability.
  • Identify technical and geographic growth areas and upcoming trends.
  • Collaborate with Data Centers and Environmental practice leadership to develop growth plans and ensure staff utilization.
  • Engage in business development by developing new clients and maintaining relationships with existing clients.
  • Integrate with the firm\'s multi-discipline data center team.
  • Provide direct oversight and management of junior staff for project assignments; coach, train, and motivate Environmental staff; participate in interviewing and hiring.
  • Perform complex analyses for portions of broader engineering and environmental projects.
Qualifications
  • 15+ years of experience in the environmental industry with 5+ years in data center/mission critical environments.
  • Bachelor\'s degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, Hydrogeology, or Science; Master\'s degree preferred.
  • Professional certification/credentials preferred (PE, CHMM, PG, etc.).
  • Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and experience providing strategic development, permitting, and operational support.
  • Proven people, project, and client management skills; excellent public speaking and written/verbal communication.
  • Strong attention to detail with analytical, multitasking, and judgment abilities; able to work independently and in a team.
  • Valid driver\'s license and reliable transportation for client meetings and site visits.
Compensation and Benefits

The estimated salary range for this role is $112,000 - $200,000. Actual compensation varies based on related experience, location, market conditions, education/training, certifications, and other credentials. Bonuses are discretionary and based on performance and firm profitability. Benefits include comprehensive health coverage, 401(k)/Roth, paid time off, and education reimbursements, among others.
