Job Title: Electrical Engineering Leader

Location options include: Wadsworth, OH; Columbus, OH; Pittsburgh, PA; Philadelphia, PA; and CDM Smith offices in New Jersey, New York, Virginia, and Georgia. Job Site Location: United States - Nationwide.

Responsibilities
  • Team Management: Manage and supervise an industrial engineering team, providing technical guidance, training, and mentorship to junior staff.
  • Technical Oversight: Independently oversee and provide expert guidance on complex electrical system designs to meet client project requirements.
  • Compliance Review: Review draft designs for compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, and sign off on completed designs.
  • Policy Adherence: Ensure all designs follow firm policies, quality, and practices.
  • Site Reviews: Perform site reviews and studies to ensure designs align with location specifications, updating design requirements as necessary.
  • Knowledge Contribution: Develop white papers and technical design documentation for new or special case designs, and submit technical papers for publication in journals.
  • Proposal Collaboration: Work with sales staff to create proposals in response to RFPs, ensuring adherence to regulations and best practices.
  • Client Engagement: Meet with current and potential clients to review their design needs and provide technical guidance.
  • Industry Visibility: Attend conferences and symposia to enhance the visibility of the firm's products and services.
  • Primary Contact: Act as the main point of contact for external clients and industry contacts, collaborating with clients and government officials to clarify technical questions.
  • Project Updates: Provide updates to project management as necessary.
  • Mentorship: Mentor junior staff to develop their skills and prepare them for future growth within the firm.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering, or Electrical Technology or related discipline.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • 15 years of related experience.
  • Domestic and/or international travel may be required.
  • The frequency of travel is contingent on duties and workload; equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to supervise the work of others.
  • Proven experience leading a team of industrial electrical engineers.
  • Understanding of FEL, FEED delivery process.
  • Experience with progressive design build and design build delivery methods.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to obtain licensing in multiple states.
  • Ability to provide detailed engineering estimates.
  • Ability to maintain project budget and schedule.

Compensation and Work Arrangement
  • Pay Range Minimum: $133,016
  • Pay Range Maximum: $246,043
  • Additional Compensation: All bonuses at CDM Smith are discretionary.
  • Work Location Options: Hybrid work options may be considered for the successful candidate.

  • Travel: Up to 10% as required.
