Job description

Responsibilities

As a Data Scientist with our team, you will be working with our federal clients to quickly develop innovative solutions for our clients’ immediate mission challenges. In this role, you will work with other data scientists, software developers, and subject matter experts to develop rapid prototypes and proof-of-concept solutions to mission challenges by leveraging existing open-source models and technologies. You will be exposed to a wide breadth of technologies as you develop unique solutions for our customers. Sample topic areas may include agentic AI workflows, data triage, search/optimization, image/video analysis, facial recognition, behavior detection, and automated discovery.

On our team, you will:

• Identify, adapt, and integrate state-of-the-art research and open-source technologies into creative solutions.
• Train or fine-tune new machine learning models to solve unique challenges.
• Research, apply, analyze, and document technical approaches and their outcomes.
• Leverage various computing resources such as GPU clusters and cloud-based compute servers.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelors degree and 3-5 years of professional experience or Masters degree and 1-3 years of professional experience.
• Experience using ML and data science packages such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or scikit-learn
• Experience deploying AI-powered solutions
• Experience leveraging open-source models and adapting them to generate custom solutions.
• U.S. Citizenship is required.
• Ability to obtain Top Secret clearance with SCI and Polygraph.

Desired Qualifications

• Familiarity with AI technologies and capabilities, to include frontier large language models and agent-based systems
• Comfortable using development tools such as VSCode, GitHub/GitLab, Jira, and Confluence
• Familiarity with database systems such as PostgreSQL
• Demonstrated experience working with large, open-source datasets
• Familiarity with data science best practices and methodologies
• Familiarity with Agile development workflows
• STEM Degree

Compensation at Noblis is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the combination of education, certifications, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, internal and external equity, location, clearance level, as well as contract-specific affordability, organizational requirements and applicable employment laws. The projected compensation range for this position is based on full time status. For part time or on-call staff, compensation is proportionately adjusted based on hours worked. While monetary compensation is important, it's just one component of Noblis’ total compensation package.
