Overview
Credit Analyst role at Lakeside Bank. Location: Park Ridge/Elmhurst. Reports to: EVP & Chief Credit Officer.
Base pay range
$55,000.00/hr - $85,000.00/hr
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Collect, spread and analyze financial statements and credit data to determine the overall risk associated with a specific loan.
- Work with Loan Officers and Portfolio Managers to ensure that all pertinent financial information has been collected, spread and analyzed.
- Assist in overall structure of the loan and make recommendations to mitigate risks of specific loan transactions.
- Utilize various financial ratios to determine strengths and weaknesses of a specific credit. Have working knowledge of cash flow, liquidity, working capital, profitability and leverage ratios.
- Determine positive and negative trends when comparing current and historical financial statements.
- Understand different accounting methods and financial statement preparations.
- Underwrite various types of real estate loans, including acquisition and construction and commercial mortgage, across asset classes such as Multi-family, Mixed-Use, Retail, Office, Industrial and Single Family Housing.
- Utilize third party vendor reports to support underwriting recommendations and decisions (appraisal, environmental, submarket, and others).
- Analyze lease types including gross, modified-gross, and NNN leases.
- Determine different types of appraisals and understand the differences between them.
- Spread and review construction draw requests; determine cost overruns, equity requirements and progression of construction projects.
- Spread and analyze personal financial statements, tax returns and credit reports of individuals.
- Perform global cash flow analysis on specific individuals; understand sole-proprietorships, passive entities and non-passive entities; knowledge of K-1s and related tax returns.
- Verify individual liquidity and understanding of personal liquid assets, marketable assets and non-marketable assets.
- Determine total bank exposure and total bank guarantees for individuals.
- Have in-depth knowledge of the bank’s loan policy.
- Prepare summary reports highlighting strengths and weaknesses of specific loan transactions.
- Make recommendations to the bank’s lending committee on overall structure and risk of the loan.
- Perform other related duties as assigned or required.

- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports, legal documents, and related materials.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills, specifically Word and Excel.
- Ability to effectively present information to management.
- Ability to work in a high-pressure environment with quick decision-making and changing priorities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Motivation, judgment and initiative; strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships with all levels of Bank personnel, clients and business associates.
- Excellent accuracy, attention to detail, organization and follow-through.
- Ability to handle routine tasks with minimal supervision and work effectively under deadlines.
Education And Experience
Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; preferably one to two years’ related experience.

Salary Information
This is an exempt position. Compensation will be based upon background and level of experience. The compensation range is $54,000 - $85,000 annually.
