PenFed is hiring a (Hybrid) Corporate FP&A Manager at our Tysons, Virginia location. We are seeking an initiative-taking Manager to join our Corporate FP&A team. The role will play a critical part in forecasting, budgeting, and strategic analysis, with a strong emphasis on executive communication, data storytelling and impactful presentation delivery. The Manager will have a strategic consulting mindset with ability to support analysis of business endeavors, research projects, and strategic initiatives. The ideal candidate will be both analytically sharp and confident communicator who can turn complex financial data into clear, compelling insights for senior leadership.

  • Collaborate with the Business Advisory Group, Corp FP&A, Treasury, and Credit Risk Teams to develop financial forecasts and analysis of strategic initiatives, ensuring alignment to PenFed’s financial objectives.
  • Support budgeting and financial forecasting efforts related to PenFed’s total company financial statements.
  • Consolidate and interpret financial results to deliver insightful executive summaries and dashboards.
  • Identify and communicate trends, risks and opportunities across business units and functional areas through structured analysis and data visualization.
  • Prepare business cases and Executive-level presentations through data visualization and translation of data insights into clear, concise, easy-to-understand content, including monthly forecasting decks and strategic planning materials.
  • Support the VP, Corp FP&A with development of actionable recommendations to improve performance, mitigate risk, and capitalize on opportunities.
  • Support management of forecasting process by providing hands-on assistance to organize task plans, forecasting calendars and follow-up with stakeholders as needed.
  • Support organizational change and learning by embracing new, flexible, and agile approaches to improve business performance, processes, innovation, and efficiency.
  • Contribute to PenFed’s culture of collaboration by actively working across business lines to gather data, communicate insights, and share knowledge.
Qualifications

An equivalent combination of education and experience is considered.

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Accounting, Finance or Engineering required.
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of relevant experience in consulting, financial services, or banking.
  • Demonstrated data analysis skills and the ability to connect data insights to key financial and business issues.
  • Understanding of bank financial statements, specifically balance sheet and income statements.
  • Understanding of the retail banking business and/or the credit union industry.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication and organizational skills required with ability to work with all management levels.
  • Experience working with large datasets and knowledge of various financial software packages and tools (e.g., Hyperion, OneStream, QRM) is strongly preferred.
  • Advanced Excel and strong PowerPoint skills required.
  • Data visualization skills: experience in Tableau or other data visualization software is preferred.
  • Concise, organized written communication and presentation skills, and able to prepare and summarize data effectively for management.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Time-management skills and ability to prioritize in a changing environment.
  • Strong people skills: ability to build and manage relationships with the team and senior management.
  • Skill leading with diplomacy and tact while maintaining appropriate assertiveness and persistence.
  • High attention to detail, intellectual curiosity, and business acumen.
Supervisory Responsibility

This position will not supervise employees.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to an indoor office setting with moderate noise.

Most roles require working in an office setting with moderate noise and the ability to lift 25 pounds.

Travel

The ability to travel to various worksites and be on-call may be required.
