Job description
Overview

We are looking for a full-time analyst to join the Wholesale Credit Risk (WCR) data analytics team. The group is comprised of risk professionals with subject matter expertise on risk metrics, products, systems and methodologies in the WCR space. As an integral member of this group, the candidate will work closely with multiple stakeholders across the organization (technology, finance, transaction management, risk analytics, risk management, etc.) to improve the integrity of the factors, processes and systems used in the calculation of exposure and risk management. This position will be mostly focused on Banking Book Collateral analysis, proactively identifying issues through variance monitoring and deep dive investigation, defining methodologies and communicating results in multiple senior forums.

Key Responsibilities
  • Run quality checks against data sources and report all data issues. Detect data anomalies and identify sources of data problems. Recommend data quality solutions.
  • Identify data patterns & trends, and provide insights to enhance business decision making capability in business planning, process improvement, solution assessment, etc.
  • Perform variance analysis on key risk attributes impacting Wholesale Lending portfolio with focus in Collateral.
  • Use visualization techniques to display data and the results of analysis in clear straightforward presentations that can be understood by non-technical readers.
  • Track progress of various data quality projects, including technology initiatives and DCRMs.
  • Contribute to senior management level presentations to communicate strategy, programs and month over month progress.
  • Provide training and guidance to other team members.
Qualifications
  • Min. 5 years of banking experience, preferably in data analytics, risk reporting areas.
  • Strong data analysis skills and high level of attention to details.
  • Banking products knowledge (Loans, Letters of Credit, etc.) and methodologies knowledge (Risk Rating, Facility/collateral maintenance).
  • Prior experience in Collateral or Transaction Management will be considered a plus.
  • Relevant experience with Tableau/MS Access/Excel.
  • Strong people skills and client focus: ability to interact successfully with business partners, risk and technology teams.
  • At least a Bachelor’s/University degree; Master’s degree preferred in Economics/Banking/Statistics/Mathematics/Technical Science or Finance.

Practical experience in SQL and Python/R or other programming language is welcomed.
