Clinical Support Associate - 7th Floor

Department Overview

Our Minneapolis 7th floor is a 33-bed pediatric unit that provides care to infants, children and young adults in hematology, oncology, general medical/surgical care and behavioral crisis monitoring. Staff specialize in hematology and oncology care, including new diagnosis, transfusions, chemotherapy administration, central line maintenance and end-of-life care. Patients also receive general medical/surgical care and behavioral crisis monitoring in three inpatient rooms. The unit maintains a clean environment for patients with weakened immune systems and coordinates ongoing chemotherapy treatment with the outpatient hematology/oncology clinic. The team values teamwork, open communication, safety, respect, and encourages professional growth and innovation.

Position Summary

Provides safe patient care as delegated by licensed nursing staff and maintains equipment and supplies per unit standard. Completed a nursing assistant course or equivalent experience, or completed a nursing or health care related clinical practicum course. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience
  • One year of previous Nursing Assistant experience or equivalent experience preferred.
Skills And Abilities
  • Proficient communication, critical thinking, and prioritization skills required.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak effectively in English to perform functions of the position.
  • Skills in basic computer operation.

Benefits

Salary range: $$20.47 – $25.75 (Vary by location). In addition to salary, the position may be eligible for medical, dental, vision, retirement, and other fringe benefits. Positions that require night, weekend or on‑call work may be eligible for shift differentials or premium pay.
