Job Description

Plans and directs Clinical Research Activities:
Review protocols, interface with research teams and develop appropriate source documents, including MD orders and research worksheets.
Develop clinical resources for the implementation of clinical research activities.
Responsible for coordinating activities administered by the research program or service area and in the development and implementation of procedures for the Clinical Research program/service area.
Acts as liaison between medical providers and research teams and CRV staff.
Oversees participant scheduling and visit approvals.

Supervise research support staff engaged in the carrying out of research and clinical protocol:
Provides instruction and direction to CRV Nurses. Responsible for conducting annual performance appraisals for CRV UF staff with the Director of Operations. Conducts annual skills evaluations/needs assessment for all staff.
Addressees practice variances, monitors trends and develops action plan.

Responsible for the interpretation and implementation of policies and procedures:
With the Director of Operations and CRV Coordinator, develops and maintains SOPs for the Clinical Research Vehicle.
Conducts training and in‑services for medical procedures, research procedures and protocols prior to implementation.
Conducts continuous process improvement evaluation.
Maintains compliance with all regulations relating to the State of Florida Office Surgery Registration.

Coordinates resources of the Clinical Research Center to accomplish goals:
Maintain compliance with research certification of all equipment.
Responsible for budgeting and acquisition for all new equipment.
Coordinates the maintenance of all CRV medical and clinic equipment.
Oversee the logistics of supplies, including specialized research equipment, medical supplies, linen and perishables

Salary: $70,000 - $75,000

Required Qualifications

Graduate of a nationally accredited nursing program and four years of professional nursing experience. Licensed as a registered nurse in accordance with Chapter 464, Florida Statutes.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Valid FL RN license
  • ACLS certification
  • Knowledge of nursing principles, practices and techniques
  • Knowledge of basic principles and good clinical practice of clinical research
  • Experience coordinating clinical research studies
  • Skill in the use of nursing equipment and instruments
  • Ability to collect, collate, analyze and evaluate data from clinical research studies
  • Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments
  • Ability to work effectively and independently
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing

Must be available to work weekend shifts.
