Overview

Associate/Full Professor, NTE, Family & Community Medicine – non-tenure eligible career track faculty position in the Department of Family and Community Medicine (DFCM) at the University of Arizona College of Medicine, Tucson.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate the potential for independence in research through publication in peer-reviewed journals, competitive fellowships or grants, presentations at scientific meetings, peer review, editorial service, and other indicators of research and innovation (rank-dependent).
  • Build collaborative relationships within DFCM with clinical faculty and community partners.
  • Mentor residents, junior research colleagues, and students with research interests; guide residents and medical students in study design and analytics.
  • Engage in teaching activities for residents and graduate students (e.g., guest lectures).
  • Seek extramural funding for research in DFCM priority areas by developing and submitting proposals; form research teams, develop plans, write proposals, and disseminate findings.
  • Develop and implement research projects from proposal to dissemination through publications and presentations.
  • Disseminate research findings through peer-reviewed publications, conference presentations, and invited lectures.
  • Participate on departmental or College of Medicine committees and professional organization committees as appropriate.
Minimum Qualifications
  • MD, PhD, or an equivalent doctoral degree with demonstrated research experience and a track record of publishing in peer-reviewed journals and obtaining extramural funding.
Preferred Qualifications
  • PhD in a relevant field; MD or DO with relevant research training.
