Overview

Area Sales Manager role at Gutor. Gutor is a leading international manufacturer of UPS systems for industrial applications with 75+ years in business, serving industries such as oil & gas, petrochemical, chemical, nuclear, and transportation. The company has a global presence with offices and branches in multiple countries.

This is a hybrid role for candidates living within 35 miles of Houston, Texas. Applicants living in Florida, Georgia, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Ohio, Oregon, Tennessee are welcome to apply. The ASM is responsible for deploying Gutor global strategy in their area, developing and executing action plans with structured and planned sales activities toward sustainable and profitable orders intake and sales of Gutor offerings based on established and new business models and go-to-market approaches. The ASM assesses market potential and defines new opportunities and markets for growing Gutor business. The ASM ensures a best-in-class customer experience from marketing and sales activity through tendering, project execution and after-sales service and customer support.

Summary of the job

We are seeking a talented Area Sales Manager to join our team. Preference is given to applicants in the Houston, Texas area. Applicants living in Florida, Georgia, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Ohio, Oregon, Tennessee are also welcome. This is a hybrid role for candidates living within 35 miles of our Houston offices; candidates would need to be onsite at least three (3) days per week. This is a remote role for candidates living in other states listed above.

The ASM will report directly to the US Sales Director and is responsible for achieving sales targets and growing Gutor’s presence in their region.

Main responsibilities
  • Formulate strategies to meet diverse market demands and company growth targets
  • Map the segment value chain and develop long-term relationships with key customers, consultants, EPCs, and influencers
  • Perform technical and sales presentations as required
  • Engage with customers’ engineering and technical teams to communicate and promote Gutor value proposition
  • Prepare technical and commercial quotations (with Tendering team support) for FEED, EPC stage bids, and project tenders; coordinate with other Gutor regions on international projects
  • Win targeted projects in line with Gutor sales guidance
  • Collaborate with the Gutor Sales Team to share knowledge and best practices
  • Gather feedback from customers and work with internal departments to maintain strong customer relationships
  • Monitor market trends and competitor movements to adjust sales tactics
  • Maintain rigorous use of reporting tools for data, commitments, and tracking of business
  • Ensure monthly, quarterly, and annual orders target achievement
Required qualifications
  • Engineering or Business Degree
  • 5 years of sales experience
  • Minimum 1 year in the Power Generation or Oil & Gas industry
  • Results oriented and able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient in verbal and written English
  • Ability to work in an international and multicultural environment
Position type
