Qualifications

  • 2 years of experience working as an Advanced Practice Provider in Vascular Surgery preferred.
  • Must have current Texas Physician Assistant license or Texas APRN license (AGACNP/ACNP).
  • Willingness to obtain RNFA.

Job Summary

The Advanced Practice Provider practices under the direct supervision of the Vascular supervising physician and is responsible for assisting with all aspects of outpatient clinic care, including diagnosis, treatments and consultations within the outpatient setting. This position will also educate patients about preventive care and prescribed treatments; may also conduct physicals, order tests and serve as a patient's healthcare provider.

Duties and Essential Job Functions
  • Is comfortable working in a large public/county facility.
  • Can demonstrate working knowledge in area assigned, and competency in assessment techniques, diagnosis and treatment processes that apply to the assigned medical specialty area.
  • Has good interpersonal, verbal, and oral communication skills.
  • Is self‑directed and takes the initiative to develop and participate in community activities and medical outreach.
  • Collaborates with the Vascular Surgeons and other APPs in overseeing and coordinating the multidisciplinary care delivered to all patients in the outpatient clinic setting, to optimize quality patient care.
  • Reviews patient medical charts to assist physician with diagnosis, treatment and care management.
  • Makes appropriate patient referrals as necessary.
  • Monitors guidelines for the management of care and for ensuring that the services are delivered in compliance with the guidelines established by JPS Health Network and Acclaim Physician Group.
  • Provides care education to patients and families.
  • Provides evidence‑based and compassionate care to all patients as assigned to improve patient outcomes and increase patient satisfaction scores.
  • Maintains a collaborative environment with providers, clinical staff, and support staff.
  • Supports academic, educational and research endeavors.
  • Performs other job‑related duties as assigned.
Key Competencies
  • Specialty training with ultrasound interpretation and procedures preferred.
  • OR experience preferred.
Work Environment
  • Work is indoors and may be subject to schedule changes and/or variable work hours.
  • Exposure to environmental temperature changes, hazardous/noxious fumes, fetid smells, air/blood‑borne pathogens such as HIV, Hep. B, TB, and other contagious diseases.
  • Environment is noisy, involves frequent interruptions or distractions.
  • Duties subject to stressful pressures and deadlines.
  • Wearing of uniform or a specific style/type of clothing and jewelry/accessories limitations or restriction may be required.

Qualifications
Education
  • Master’s or Doctoral Degree in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing OR Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Program
Experience
  • 2 years of experience working as an Advanced Practice Provider in Vascular Surgery preferred.
Licensure
  • Must have current Texas Physician Assistant license or Texas APRN license (AGACNP/ACNP) with RNFA (or willingness to obtain RNFA)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
  • DEA license required.
