Job Title: Product Owner – Trade Promotion Optimization (TPO)

Location: Remote

Job Type: FTE

Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Product Owner – Trade Promotion Optimization (TPO) to lead the design, development, and deployment of advanced trade optimization capabilities. This role will be responsible for defining the TPO product vision, gathering and prioritizing business requirements, and ensuring alignment between Commercial, Finance, Data Science, and Technology teams.

• The ideal candidate will combine strong commercial process knowledge with data‑driven decision‑making experience, ideally within the CPG industry. You’ll own the end‑to‑end design and delivery of TPO solutions that drive trade effectiveness, ROI, and actionable insights.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own the end‑to‑end TPO product lifecycle, from discovery and requirements gathering through design, build, deployment, and adoption.
  • Lead business requirement sessions with global and regional Commercial teams to define optimization needs, scenarios, and decision‑use cases.
  • Translate business objectives into functional and technical requirements, ensuring data, analytics, and system designs meet user needs.
  • Collaborate across multiple teams—including TPM, Sales, Finance, Revenue Growth Management (RGM), Data Science, and IT—to design integrated and scalable solutions.
  • Define and prioritize the TPO product roadmap, balancing analytical rigor with business usability and integration needs.
  • Partner with data and analytics teams to design optimization models, scenario simulations, and dashboards for performance tracking.
  • Champion data quality and governance across systems feeding into TPO (e.g., TPM, ERP, POS, syndicated data).
  • Drive design and implementation workshops, ensuring cross‑functional alignment on data models, workflows, and output visualization.
  • Monitor adoption and value realization, refining models and interfaces based on business feedback.
  • Serve as the single point of accountability for TPO product decisions, risks, and delivery timelines.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Economics, Data Analytics, IT, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience, including 5+ years in Product Ownership or Trade Optimization‑related roles.
  • Deep understanding of Trade Promotion Optimization processes, including scenario planning, ROI analysis, and promotional effectiveness.
  • Experience with CPG / FMCG commercial and trade investment processes.
  • Working knowledge of tools such as SAP TPM, Anaplan, o9, SAS, or custom‑built TPO platforms.
  • Proven ability to bridge business and technical domains, influencing at senior stakeholder levels.
  • Strong analytical mindset with experience in data modeling, performance metrics, and visualization.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills across business and technology teams.
  • Experience working in Agile / Scrum environments and managing complex product backlogs.
Preferred Skills
  • Exposure to data science or AI‑driven optimization models for promotion planning.
  • Experience integrating TPO outputs into TPM or ERP systems.
  • Familiarity with revenue growth management frameworks and trade spend analytics.
  • Prior experience in global or multi‑market solution design and deployment.
