Today, we serve more than 3,000 customers across Europe, processing close to a million devices every year in our refurbishing centres.

At 3stepIT, taking care is our mindset. We take care of our customers, their technology and each other.

Reporting to: Director, Strategic Development

Job role and purpose:

We are seeking a Sustainability Director to position 3stepIT as the preferred partner in Circular Technology. In this role, you will lead the development, execution, and communication of a sustainability strategy that aligns with our mission, vision, and values. Your primary objective will be to drive our organization’s sustainable transformation by integrating sustainability into our core strategy, setting ambitious targets, and creating a roadmap that leads to long term value creation and commercial success.

As a Sustainability Director, you will play a pivotal role in our commercial success by enhancing regulatory credibility, aligning with essential business standards, and differentiating our approach to sustainability in the market. Your efforts will strengthen our brand perception and increase market value, ensuring 3stepIT’s commitment to sustainability resonates with clients, partners, and the broader industry.

The Sustainability Director will lead a dedicated sustainability team and provide support to our commercial organization by ensuring that 3stepIT is meeting Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) related business expectations by responding to customer requirements, Request of Proposals (RFP´s) and questions related to sustainability and ESG.

This role will further enhance our commercial value by developing and owning a data-driven sustainability strategy and transformation plan to position us as a leader within Circular Technology. You will ensure differentiation and competitive advantage by embedding sustainability into our overall value proposition, developing innovative offerings and business models that allow customers to make sustainable choices.

This role will oversee the regulatory compliance, Quality and Environmental Management Systems, and support business requirements. You will work closely with key stakeholders, including Management, the Commercial Organization, Marketing & Communications, Product Management, and Data & Analytics, to embed sustainability practices throughout the organization.

Qualifications and experience:

  • Bachelors’ or Master´s degree in a relevant field, (for example Business, Communication, or Marketing) or equivalent.
  • +7 years of experience in marketing, communications, or sales, along with a background in corporate sustainability leadership and a solid understanding of the sustainability landscape and its stakeholders.
  • Ability to develop and execute long-term sustainability strategies that align with business goals. Experience in implementing sustainability frameworks and initiatives.
  • General understanding of environmental laws, regulations, policies and best practices.
  • Demonstrated expertise related to European Union regulations, including the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS), and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) reporting frameworks.
  • Experience in acting as a spokesperson as well as briefing and managing senior spokespeople for media interviews.
  • Visionary in communication ideas, practical planning and execution.
  • Collaborative working skills, effective leadership and ability to build relationships and work cross-functionally with other teams.
  • Strong financial acumen, comfortable working with complex data, with a systematic approach to analyzing and clearly explaining it.
  • Ability to translate customer needs and insights into product requirements.

In addition to a competitive pay package, you’ll also enjoy a range of benefits that make 3stepIT a place where we take care of you.

  • Recognition and rewards

Beyond your pay, we go a few steps further to make sure you’re properly recognized for your achievements. Some of the highlights include the 3stepIT Bonus Program and Employee Excellence Awards!

  • Continuous learning

People at 3stepIT are deeply curious, willing to seize learning opportunities and know that development starts with themselves. That’s why we offer ongoing learning opportunities like the Talent Development Program, coaching, training days, workshops and more.

  • Health and wellbeing

A good work-life balance and wonderful workspaces are essential, but we go further. We want you to bring your whole self to work: a healthy mind and a healthy body. Breaks in your day are vital, so we avoid back to back meetings, and you’ll be offered a range of physical activities to get involved in. It’s all about being the ‘best you’ you can be.

  • Giving back

You’ll have the chance to join colleagues in various team volunteering initiatives, as well as gaining funding and support for the causes you believe in. We call this ‘Walk the talk’ because we demonstrate through action that we take care of our planet.

When you work with amazing people, it’s hard not to have a good time. From team challenges to sports activities and our annual conference, there’s plenty of fun stuff to get involved in at 3stepIT.
