A recruitment agency is looking for an experienced Interim Infrastructure Engineer to support a manufacturing environment in Brandsburton. The ideal candidate will have strong BAU experience, cloud and networking knowledge, and the ability to deliver projects quickly. This is a full-time on-site role with immediate start preferred.

Interim Infrastructure Engineer

Are you an experienced Infrastructure Engineer available for an interim assignment, with the ability to hit the ground running and support a busy manufacturing environment?

Based in Brandsburton East Yorkshire, supporting a business going through a key period of growth and change. You’ll provide hands on expertise across their core infrastructure, ensuring resilience, security, and continuity during a high demand phase.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing and improving on premise and cloud based infrastructure, including networks, servers, and storage.
• Administration of Windows and *Nix servers, covering configuration, maintenance, and optimisation.
• Overseeing email, messaging, and backup environments, ensuring strong recovery capabilities.
• Maintaining and tuning Oracle SQL databases to ensure performance and data integrity.
• Supporting application management, configuration, and upgrades across the business.
• Strengthening system security and ensuring controls remain aligned to current threats.
• Contributing to disaster recovery planning and automation of routine tasks.
• Providing 3rd line support for critical systems, ensuring minimal downtime.

BAU and Project Delivery

Alongside day to day support, you’ll also take responsibility for delivering short term improvement projects, including infrastructure upgrades, optimisation work, security enhancement, and streamlining systems and processes. The business needs an engineer who can keep operations stable while pushing projects forward with pace.

• Strong BAU experience, ensuring stability, uptime, and smooth operations in fast paced manufacturing settings.
• Confidence owning and delivering infrastructure projects from planning through to implementation.
• Ability to balance immediate operational support with project priorities.
• Proven experience in infrastructure within manufacturing or engineering environments.
• Strong networking, cloud, virtualisation, storage, SQL and Microsoft 365 knowledge.
• Someone proactive, technically strong, and able to step in with minimal handover.

Contract details:

• Interim day rate position.
• Full time, on site, BRandsburton based.
• Immediate or short notice start preferred.
