Sr Engineering Manager – Multi-cloud

Job Summary
With our rapid growth within the Cloud Networking space, we need to scale our software engineering team! If you are an experienced engineering manager looking to take the next step and want to help build out services that will affect how the next generation of internet backbone infrastructure is delivered to the world, join our team!

Responsibilities

1. In this position, you will be the manager of a team in charge of delivering state-of-the-art solutions that change customer’s experience of provisioning and operating inter-cloud network infrastructure.
2. You’ll help teams navigate the complexities of aligning features with other teams in other parts of the company and making sure our customers can consume them in a seamless and enjoyable way.
3. It is a software development team, so the usual agile methodologies will be required.
4. You’ll also:
1. Be a technical manager with experience in distributed systems architecture and cloud platforms.
2. Partner with product owners and other customer-facing partners to understand market needs, quickly translating them into demonstrable software.
3. Deal with ambiguity and drive to the heart of problems - when developing/managing an internal platform, sometimes you participate in the “what” just as much as the “how”.
4. Recruit, lead, and manage a team of software engineers.
5. Deeply care about technology, your craft, and about the success of your team while finding solutions to challenging business problems.
6. Help drive software design and improve our system architecture, making sure components are built in a way that is conducive for rapid development and deployment onto our platform.

Qualifications

1. Proven years of experience in software engineering management
2. Bachelor's in computer science or computer engineering is a nice to have, but not required
3. Strong organization and time management skills
4. Influence skills of a natural leader, helping to educate and develop those around you
5. Experience with building software at scale with focus on resilience, automation, and quality of production-ready solution. Prior experience with any of these: VPC, Load Balancers, DNS, Security Policies, IP Address Management is a plus
6. Experience developing distributed, scalable, and highly available services with clean and modern APIs
7. Experience in modern coding languages like Java or Go
8. Experience with agile software development practices like event storming, Scrum, peer review, CI/CD, DevSecOps
