Principal Supplier Performance Engineer

Supplier Performance Engineer Responsibilities:

Supplier Performance Engineer is responsible for:

1. Personal, industrial, and nuclear safety as a fundamental part of their job.
2. Learning, applying, and reinforcing Nuclear Safety Culture Traits and Human Performance Tools at Westinghouse and with our suppliers.
3. De-risking new suppliers through technical assessments and development.
4. Identifying, proposing, and implementing performance improvements.
5. Leading timely resolution of complex quality/technical issues.
6. Implementing dual sourcing strategies (supplier development and qualification) to mitigate risks associated with single-source suppliers.
7. This includes:
1. Identification of project risks and mitigating actions.
2. Managing project schedules.
3. Approval of supplier process documents.
4. Process capability analyses.
5. Measurement system analyses.
6. Input to design for manufacturability, etc.
8. Leading technical assessments of new suppliers for manufacturing capability, capacity, process controls, compliance with applicable regulations, codes & standards, and associated risks.
9. Leading Supplier development activities to implement or improve Supplier quality management systems and/or manufacturing processes to meet Westinghouse requirements.
10. Performing on-site and remote supplier oversight to ensure Westinghouse technical and quality requirements are achieved.
11. Owning internal and supplier corrective action requests, performing cause analyses and verifying completion of preventative and corrective actions.
12. Leading and escalating significant “quality events”, coordinating activities, issuing timely communications, identifying stakeholders, etc. to ensure prompt identification of impacted products, disposition, & corrective action.
13. Evaluating procurement risk, soliciting stakeholder input, and leveraging tools and resources to develop security of supply risk mitigation plans.
14. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify potential dual sourcing opportunities, assess feasibility, ensure the integrity and clarity of requirements, and ensure that all expectations are communicated effectively to suppliers.
15. Developing and maintaining strong relationships with both single and dual source suppliers.
16. Analyzing market trends and industry benchmarks to optimize supplier selection and performance.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor Degree or higher in Engineering.
2. 10+ years of progressive experience in engineering/manufacturing.
3. Extensive knowledge in manufacturing processes: Machining, welding, assembly of components, I&C, etc.
4. Experience performing process capability analysis (Cpk) and qualification.
5. Working knowledge of Manufacturing and Quality Plans, PFMEAs, etc.
6. Ability to identify key project tasks, develop schedules, and manage spend.
7. Experience leading multiple, concurrent cross-functional projects.
8. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Project, and PowerPoint.
9. Experience authoring technical documents or operating procedures.
10. Ability to read drawings and specifications.
11. Experience with nuclear products and standards desired.
12. Project Management experience desired.
13. Effective communication with different disciplines and functions.
