Job summary

A leading engineering firm is seeking an experienced automation engineer for a fixed-term assignment in Oslo. The role involves leading automation design for HVDC and HVAC offshore wind projects, with responsibilities including managing interfaces and developing documentation. Applicants should have at least 10 years of experience in automation engineering, preferably in greenfield Oil & Gas projects, along with relevant engineering qualifications and certifications. The position is full-time, from January 2025 to June 2026.

Qualifications

• Over 10 years of experience in automation engineering from greenfield Oil & Gas projects.
• Minimum of 6 years' experience with automation system design activities.
• Valid EX-course and FSE-course certificates.

Job description

• Lead automation design for study and tendering phases of HVDC & HVAC offshore wind projects.
• Verify designs from previous study phases.
• Define, specify, and design automation and Safety and Automation Systems (SAS).
• Develop key documentation including philosophies, topologies, I/O budgets, and system descriptions in line with specifications and regulations.
• Organize and participate in meetings, workshops, and reviews for the automation discipline.
• Manage interfaces with other disciplines, contractors, and the client.
• Opportunity to contribute to later project phases, such as FEED and EPC.

Required expertise

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant engineering discipline.
• At least 10 years of automation engineering experience from greenfield Oil & Gas projects on the Norwegian Continental Shelf.
• A minimum of 6 years' experience with automation and SAS/ICSS system design activities and reviews.
• Proven experience with automation system design in FEED or study phases.
• In-depth knowledge of automation design according to standards such as NORSOK, ATEX, PTIL, ISO, DNVGL, and IEC.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with a proactive, systematic, and accurate approach.
• High commitment to deadlines and quality requirements.
• A valid EX-course certificate.
• A valid FSE-course certificate.
• Experience with European offshore wind projects is highly preferred.
