Our Oil & Gas client, a specialist within pipelay and cablelay systems, are recruiting for the above role on a permanent basis.

They are looking for someone who lives fairly local, or willing to re-locate to the area. Initially, this will be full time in the office, and once comfortable and up to speed, you will have the option to work 3 days in the office / 2 days from home.

In terms of experience, we are looking for someone with a thorough understanding of hydraulic/pneumatic circuit design & component selection and good working knowledge of FEM tools.

Key responsibilities:

1. Apply technical knowledge to innovate, design and develop customised customer-centric design
2. Produce and check Mechanical engineering documentation deliverables through quick and accurate engineering analyses (3d and 2d drawings, bills of materials, spreadsheet calculations, technical specifications, component selection, FEM calculations, etc.)
3. Ensure all deliverables are technically in accordance with client requirements
4. Ensure timely and thorough review of client specifications and communication of findings
5. Participate in internal design review meetings, being aware of commercial implications
6. Attend and participate in client meetings, always ensuring customer care is at the foremost position
7. Contribute to the investigation, resolution and documentation of Engineering Queries in a timely and technically acceptable fashion
8. Reduce cost of product through new design simplification and existing product redesign
9. Travel required as dictated by project needs (worldwide travel) for client meetings, and to provide site installation, commissioning and testing support
