The opportunity:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Application Maintenance to join our IT support team. This position is crucial for ensuring the smooth operation of customer Azure systems, including Azure Synapse, SQL Pool, DataPipeline Ingestion, Data Fabric, and Azure Functions.
Responsibilities:
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues, collaborating with other technical teams and vendors as necessary;
- Monitoring and Maintenance: Monitor the performance of Azure systems and perform proactive maintenance to prevent issues;
- Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation of common issues, solutions, and best practices;
- Training and Support: Assist in training new team members and provide ongoing support to end-users;
- Updates and Patches: Manage and implement updates and patches to ensure systems are secure and up-to-date;
- Collaboration: Work closely with development and engineering teams to enhance system integration and efficiency;
- On-Call Availability: Be available for on-call support outside of regular business hours to address urgent issues and ensure system reliability;
- Major Incident Management: Manage Major Incidents effectively, ensuring minimal impact on business operations and timely resolution;
- Vendor Coordination: Coordinate with vendors and third-party service providers involved in the support process to ensure efficient resolution of issues.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science;
- Previous experience as a Senior Application Maintenance (+3 years);
- On-call availability;
- Extensive hands-on experience with Azure Synapse, SQL Pool, DataPipeline Ingestion, Data Fabric, and Azure Functions;
- Deep understanding of relational databases, data warehousing, ETL/ELT processes, and microservices architectures;
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience in resolving complex technical issues;
- Microsoft Azure certifications (such as Azure Administrator, Azure Developer, or Azure Solutions Architect) are highly preferred;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues to a non-technical audience;
- Ability to work independently and take the initiative to improve support processes and solutions;
- Programming Languages: Proficiency in principal programming languages such as Java and/or Python.
