Position Overview:
As a Resident Engineer at Soft-in, you will serve as the primary technical contact for the customer, providing support for vehicle system testing, diagnostics, and technical problem-solving. You will facilitate key activities like test drives, system checkouts, ECU updates, and customer meetings while ensuring effective communication and technical coordination between Soft-in and the customer.
Location: Turin, Italy

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Serve as the local technical contact for the customer, communicating in both Italian and English.
  2. Conduct vehicle test drives and system checkouts.
  3. Perform testing at both test board and vehicle levels.
  4. Support Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) tests at the vehicle level.
  5. Provide support for Hardware-in-the-Loop (HiL) and Software-in-the-Loop (SiL) systems.
  6. Carry out ECU software updates, troubleshooting, and mechanical inspections.
  7. Assist with project-related reviews (e.g., FTPs, DFMEA).
  8. Investigate and resolve quality returns and issues.
  9. Support the preparation of necessary documentation and reports.
  10. Attend customer meetings regularly and participate in test drives.
  11. Offer local assistance in the preparation and testing of prototype vehicles.
  12. Participate in requirements analysis and documentation efforts.

Scope of Work:

  1. Act as the local interface for the customer, primarily in Italian.
  2. Facilitate both offline and online debugging sessions in Turin.
  3. Perform ECU flashing at customer locations.
  4. Collaborate with the customer on new specifications and requirements.
  5. Engage in discussions regarding requirement clarifications and assist with technical competencies.
  6. Understand and transfer system knowledge at the vehicle level to relevant team members.
  7. Participate in diagnostic boot camps at Stellantis.

Requirements:

  1. Fluent in both Italian and English.
  2. Strong technical knowledge of vehicle systems, diagnostics, and ECU updates.
  3. Hands-on experience with HiL/SiL testing, vehicle system testing, and EMC tests.
  4. Excellent communication skills for customer-facing roles.
  5. Ability to work independently and manage technical responsibilities on-site.
