Job summary

MISSION:

Ensure that engineering design, procurement, construction, and project completion is done in compliance with the project contract requirements, i.e., project schedule, cost, HSE, and company standards and procedures.

TASKS:

• Coordinate piping-related activities throughout all phases of EPC projects, including engineering design, procurement, fabrication, installation, and commissioning.
• Review and approve piping design drawings, specifications, and documents to ensure compliance with project requirements, codes, and standards.
• Collaborate with procurement teams to select appropriate piping materials based on project specifications, process requirements, and budgetary constraints.
• Evaluate and select qualified vendors and subcontractors for piping materials, fabrication, and installation services, and oversee their performance to ensure adherence to quality and schedule requirements.
• Provide technical support and guidance to construction teams during the installation, testing, and commissioning of piping systems, and address any issues or discrepancies that may arise.
• Implement quality control measures and inspection procedures to verify the integrity and compliance of piping installations with project specifications and industry standards.
• Monitor project budgets, track expenses, and identify cost-saving opportunities related to piping materials, fabrication, and installation activities.
• Develop and maintain project schedules for piping-related tasks, coordinate with other disciplines, and proactively identify and address schedule risks and delays.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients regarding piping-related matters, provide regular updates on project progress, and address client inquiries and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
• Ensure accurate and timely documentation of piping engineering deliverables, construction progress reports, change orders, and as-built drawings for record-keeping and project closeout purposes.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
• Proven experience 8+ years as a Piping Engineer or Project Engineer in the EPC industry, with a focus on coordinating piping activities for large-scale projects.
• Strong knowledge of piping design principles, materials, codes, and standards, including ASME B31.3, ASME B31.1, and API standards.
• Experience with piping design software such as AutoCAD, PDMS, or SmartPlant 3D.
• Excellent project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, clients, vendors, and subcontractors.
• Proactive problem-solving attitude and attention to detail, with a focus on delivering high-quality results and meeting project objectives.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software tools.
