Job summary
MISSION:
As a Technical Manager / Field Engineer Manager for FPSO, you will be responsible for overseeing technical operations and engineering activities related to FPSO (Floating Production Storage and Offloading) projects. You will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation, maintenance, and optimization of FPSO facilities, while also providing leadership and guidance to a team of field engineers and technicians. This role requires a strong technical background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage complex projects in a dynamic offshore environment.
TASKS:
- Leading and managing all technical aspects of FPSO operations, including production, maintenance, and troubleshooting;
- Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and best practices for offshore oil and gas operations;
- Overseeing the development and implementation of maintenance plans, inspection schedules, and asset integrity management strategies;
- Conducting regular audits and assessments to identify areas for improvement and optimize operational efficiency;
- Providing leadership, mentorship, and technical guidance to a team of field engineers, technicians, and support staff;
- Fostering a culture of safety, collaboration, and continuous learning within the team;
- Setting clear performance objectives, conduct performance evaluations, and provide regular feedback to team members;
- Identifying training needs and opportunities for skill development to ensure a competent and capable workforce;
- Coordinating with project managers, stakeholders, and vendors to ensure the successful execution of FPSO projects from inception to completion;
- Managing project schedules, budgets, and resources effectively to meet project milestones and deliverables;
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues, mitigate risks, and ensure project objectives are achieved on time and within budget;
- Providing technical support and expertise during offshore operations, including troubleshooting of equipment failures, process optimization, and incident response;
- Liaising with technical teams, contractors, and suppliers to address technical challenges and implement solutions;
- Reviewing engineering designs, specifications, and documentation to ensure compliance with project requirements and industry standards;
- Promoting a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with HSE regulations and guidelines;
- Conducting risk assessments and implement control measures to mitigate health, safety, and environmental hazards;
- Investigating incidents and near misses, and developing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or related field). Master’s degree or equivalent experience preferred;
- Minimum of 10+ years of experience in offshore oil and gas operations, with a focus on FPSO systems and facilities;
- Proven leadership experience in managing multidisciplinary teams in a technical environment;
- Strong understanding of FPSO design, construction, installation, and commissioning processes;
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to make sound decisions under pressure;
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels;
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations governing offshore oil and gas operations (e.g., API, ISO, SOLAS, MARPOL);
- Relevant certifications in project management, safety management, or technical disciplines are desirable;
- Fluent level of written and spoken English.

- Job Location: Far East;
